I did not expect the product development culture at Hiro to change. I hoped the spin-out would give me room to build differently. But the venture, which became Leather, still operated within the Stacks ecosystem, serving the Stacks market. The ecosystem's dominant culture still constrained what was possible. The same lack of real end-user demand that the broader pattern had produced followed Leather, too.
